Dr. Treva Barham, Director of Training and Internships
Treva is a Licensed Professional Counselor and supervisor with 20 years of experience in counseling. She earned a doctorate in Counselor Education and Supervision with a specialization in Leadership. Her counseling experience includes community mental health, a university counseling center, private practice, and a local medical clinic that provided holistic care. She enjoys working with children, adolescents, adults, couples, families, veterans, and first responders. She is trained in EMDR and works with clients of all ages that have experienced trauma as well as anxiety, depression, grief, life transitions, and relationship challenges. She is experienced with play therapy and works with children and adolescents seeking resources to navigate the challenges of daily life.
In addition to counseling, Treva has a passion for counselor education. She teaches at a local university in the counselor education program. She also oversees the training, programming, and supervision for graduate counseling interns and LPC Associates serving at Hope Road.
Treva considers it a privilege to work in a variety of settings and minister to people with diverse backgrounds. She recognizes the significance and sacredness of the counseling journey and approaches each client with care and compassion. She and her husband have been married for 21 years and are raising four sons.
